Submission of the FAFSA is required to receive nearly all forms of financial aid from colleges, including loans, grants, and scholarships.

WSU General Scholarship Application
The application for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. WSU offer more than 700 scholarship programs that you apply for with a single application. The deadline is January 31, 2024.

You could also be eligible for awards based on the campus location you're attending, including Spokane, Tri-Cities, Everett, or Vancouver.

WSU Regents Scholarship
Deadline: Oct. 12, 2023, by 2 p.m.
One male and one female student from Lakeside High School are selected each year for a $16,000 scholarship that is awarded over four years. WSU must be one of your top school choices and you must have a 3.6 GPA. The full application requirements are posted in your Senior Advisory Google Classroom. Turn in your completed application to Mr. Osborn.

Experience WSU Award
Automatically add $500 to your scholarship simply by spending an enjoyable day on campus. You'll get a college tour and free lunch plus earn $1,000 towards your first year's tuition! Preview Events are scheduled for Oct. 28 this fall and April 13 in Spring 2024. You may attend during your junior or senior year.

The FAFSA priority deadline for new students is Mar. 31. Use school code 003800.

EWU General Scholarship Application
The application for the 2024-2025 school year opens Nov. 1, 2023. EWU gives out $5.5 million in scholarships every year. You can earn an automatic, four-year scholarship based on your GPA. For example, with a 3.6 GPA, you receive $2,000.

The deadline for the general application is February 1, 2024. You will need your high school transcript, Running Start college transcript if applicable, and five application essays.

EWU Departmental Scholarships are awarded for specific majors and may require a separate application. These include accounting, biology, business, education, film, and music.

EWU requests FAFSA materials be received by Feb. 1 for priority funding. The school code is 003775.

CWU General Scholarship Application
The application for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. You can access over 320 scholarships with one application. The deadline is March 1, 2024.

Performance and Talent Awards are given by the Athletics, Music, and Theater Arts departments based on demonstrated ability to academically qualified students.

Each College Dean has funds available for academically gifted incoming freshmen. Recipients are required to maintain a 2.75 GPA.

Gonzaga subsidizes 98% of incoming student's tuition with merit scholarships. All students who complete the Application for Admissions are automatically considered for Gonzaga's scholarship program with awards ranging from $14,000 to $25,000 each year.

The Gonzaga Guarantee ensures that your school-funded scholarships will not decrease if you maintain good academic standing during your continuous, full-time, four-year enrollment.

Additional awards are available for family members of Gonzaga alumni, the Honors Program, students who demonstrate exceptional humanitarianism, These scholarships have separate application requirements and deadlines that range from Jan. 1 to Feb. 12, 2024.

New this year is the Unity Scholars program, which awards a full-ride scholarship for tuition, fees, housing, and meal plan for four years. Eligible recipients will embody resiliency and be committed to social justice and leadership. Priority is given to students who demonstrate financial need, specifically with a family income of 70% of Washington's median, which would equal $80,000 for a family of four.

Final Admissions Deadline: Nov. 15, 2023

UW does not have a general scholarship application like most colleges. All awards are based on your admissions application and filing your FAFSA, which must be submitted to the school's financial aid office by January 15, 2022. Visit the UW Scholarships web page for more details.

Approximately 600 academic scholarships are awarded each year to students for academic achievement and financial need. Additionally, incoming freshman are considered for the $10,000 Presidential Scholar award, and 100 freshmen qualify for the Academic Excellence Award. To be considered for the UW Diversity Scholarship, which awards $10,000 each year for four years, students must apply by Jan. 15.

Scholarship programs are also awarded through the Honors Program, Washington NASA Space Grant, and several academic departments, which all require separate applications.

Rolling Admissions: Aug. 30, 2024, for Fall Quarter

CCS Foundation General Scholarship Application
The CCS Foundation administers scholarships for students attending Spokane Community College and Spokane Falls Community College. The general application, which has over 100 scholarships, opens January 18, 2024, and must be submitted by March 18, 2024. A select number of scholarships reopen in August.

You are automatically matched to scholarships with just application although some opportunities may require additional details or materials.

FAFSA priority funding for fall quarter closes mid-May. Use code 003793 for SCC or 009544 for SFCC.



Final Admissions Deadline: Jan. 31, 2024

WWU provides merit scholarships to incoming freshmen based on application materials and the FAFSA. These scholarships range from $1,500 to $4,000 for one or two years and are based on academic achievement, leadership potential, special talents, and multicultural achievements.

Washington students who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to access, diversity, equity, and inclusion may also qualify for the Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP). This scholarship requires an additional essay with your admissions application.

The priority deadline has been extended to Feb. 28, 2024, for the upcoming academic year. WWU's FAFSA code is 003802.


Evergreen State College

Rolling Admissions: Sept. 1, 2024, for Fall Quarter

Evergreen General Scholarship Application
Evergreen State College opens its general application to more than 100 scholarships on Jan. 10, 2024. All required materials must be submitted by Apr. 1. To access the scholarship portal and apply, you must be admitted to Evergreen.

There are many types of scholarships available for students of all kinds, and you are automatically matched with opportunities that fit your need, interests, and circumstances.

Note that there is no longer a letter of recommendation requirement for the 2024-2025 school year application, but you will need to submit up to three 1,000-word essays. Portfolios and additional criteria may be required for specific scholarships, such as photography, writing samples, or audio records. Evergreen offers incoming students the opportunity to work with the campus Writing Center to polish your application materials.

For priority consideration, your FAFSA must be submitted by Mar. 1, 2024. Evergreen's school code is 008155.



Final Admissions Deadline: Mar. 1, 2024

After performing a holistic review of your admissions application, Whitworth may award anywhere from $16,000 to $30,000 per year for academic achievement, personal background, and other factors. These scholarships are renewable up to four years as long as you maintain satisfactory academic progress. No separate scholarship application is required.

A $4,000 housing grant is automatically awarded to incoming students who live on campus.

The Visit Whitworth Scholarship gives incoming student a one-time $1,000 award for participating in a qualifying campus event between May 1, 2023, and May 1, 2024.

Talent and Participation Scholarships, valued at $1,000 or more, are awarded in art and design, speech and debate forensics, media, music, theater, and Young Life. Each department has varying application requirements and deadlines with most being due Feb. 1.

Whitworth will send out financial aid offers in January who have submitted their FAFSA. Offers are sent on a rolling basis starting in February to new admits going forward. The school code is 003804.


Out-of-State Schools

Check if your school participates in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) to qualify for significantly reduced non-resident tuition. Additional information is available on the LHS Federal and State Financial Aid page.

  • Boise State University
    • General Scholarship Application, due Feb. 15, 2024
    • Final Admissions Deadline is Dec. 15, 2023
    • WUE, $15,224 per year with 3.5 GPA; must have an eligible major
  • Idaho State University
    • Automatic scholarships are granted with admissions application materials
    • Rolling Admissions, July 1, 2024 for Fall Quarter
    • WUE, $15,000 per year; all fields of study are eligible
    • Non-resident tuition waivers are highly competitive, and the average GPA is 3.5.
  • University of Idaho
    • With the admissions applications, students are automatically considered for all UofI scholarship programs, including Go Idaho!, WUE, and the Invitation to Idaho waiver. No separate scholarship applications are required.
    • Rolling Admissions, July 1, 2024 for Fall Quarter
    • WUE, up to $16,000 per year based on GPA with a minimum of 2.5
    • Note: Located just 9 miles away from WSU, the University of Idaho actually has a lower tuition fee for non-residents under the WUE program.


  • University of Montana
    • Most scholarship funds are administered through the UM Scholarship Portal, a centralized, general application for university, non-resident, renewable scholarships. Priority consideration is given to students who submit by Mar. 1, 2024.
    • Department scholarships have varying requirements, deadlines, and submission processes.
    • Rolling Admissions; Housing application for fall quarter due Apr. 1
    • UMASS and WUE awards are based on GPA, ranging from $16,000 per year for a 4.0 to $5,000 per year for a 2.99 and below.
  • Montana State University
    • Applicants can complete a general application in the Cat $cholarship portal beginning Nov. 1. The priority funding deadline is Feb. 1.
    • Achievement and WUE awards are not stackable. Students receive the award of greatest value. Both are based on cumulative high school GPA, ranging from $15,000 per year for a 4.0 to $6,000 per year for 2.7. The deadline for WUE scholarship consideration is Jan. 3, 2024.

  • VOLTA Line School, Rathdrum, Idaho, and Warrenton, Oregon
    • Roger E. Meier Foundation Line School Scholarship
    • The VOLTA Women's Scholarship is an all-expenses paid program offered by the National Electric Contractors Association to increase opportunities for women in the outside electrical industry. Check with the JATC office after February 2024 for upcoming acceptance dates.
